Sarcoidosis is a complex disorder that affects multiple systems and has characteristics akin to autoimmune diseases. Although it exhibits some similarities with autoimmune disorders and responds to immunosuppressive treatment, sarcoidosis is classified as a systemic inflammatory disorder.
