The big deal is I absolutely, take my vision seriously! Ocular systemic sarcoidosis can cause #Vision Loss or #Blindness

I take the Immunosuppressive medication Methotrexate--

It’s important to reduce inflammation, to help control my symptoms caused by sarcoidosis.

--Are common examples., used to control both #ocular and #systemic inflammation.

📎So, I take Methotrexate once a week!

My rheumatologist is the one who prescribes -systemic anti-inflammatory medication for sarcoidosis.

Years ago, my rheumatologist, doctor being positive... stressed at the time at least your ocular sarcoidosis is only in 1 eye.

Which was not to imply that it wasn't systemic, as sarcoidosis is a systemic inflammatory disorder!

Unfortunely, for some ocular sarcoidosis can/will end up in both eyes eventually; as well as in other parts of the body as well!

Living with sarcoidosis is observing, an observant as to how complex sarcoidosis is; while yet not fully understanding at the same time the complexities of the chaos of inflammation … an variations of symptoms it invokes within 💭

- My staring point of sarcoidosis was my eye! Moreover, sarcoidosis does effect other parts of my body; as well Hence, the word systemic is applicable.

#Systemic Sarcoidosis

Iregardless to what manifestation of Sarcoidosis one may have sarcoidosis effects everyone differently.

When healthcare providers speak on delay of sarcoidosis—progression; it basically means of sorts to delay the side efforts an complications! as long as possible with medication therapy.

In my case its to take medication to delay or keep vision loss at bay as long as possible… as well as with also managing any additional sarcoidosis symptoms.

That said, my medication treatment of Methotrexate an —Hydroxychloroquine etc., are to hopefully, keep vision loss or blindness at bay; ergo from happening as long as possible...

Additionally, any sarcoidosis additional symptoms as well as any additional organ involvement.

Basically, medication management, treatment for, of symptoms ... based on which part of the body sarcoidosis is and will effect!

Therefore, as there's no cure yet!

Solutions are medication & symptom —management if you will... to hopefully, delaying the worse!

There are so many that only think of sarcoidosis in the lungs…

Anyone can get sarcoidosis but, It is more common in people of African American and Scandinavian descent💭
Irregardless, of race sarcoidosis is usually higher in women then men.

They're are many variations of sarcoidosis & manifestations in-which treatment will be different for each person.

Which is why I recommend anyone that has sarcoid, sarcoidosis or suspicion of sarcoidosis also, have a —
“rheumatologist” who diagnoses and treats inflammatory - conditions such as sarcoidosis.

So, I take #Sarcoidosis seriously …. #Sarcoidosis, systemic with ocular & sub-acute involvement is a big deal!
