Sarcoidosis can affect the Liver and the Spleen—

Essentially, ‘Sarcoidosis’ has the potential — Implications to affect nearly any organ or part of the body.

 

Hepatic sarcoidosis typically manifests on imaging scans as multiple small —Hypodense Nodules that are ‘darker’ than the surrounding liver tissue.

Associated findings may include —Hepatomegaly or an Enlarged Spleen. #Swollen Liver or Spleen

These nodules can range in size from 1-2 mm to several centimeters and may be —mistaken for liver metastases, abscesses, or other granulomatous diseases.

Notably, the lesions are ▪️not fluid-filled cysts ▪️but, rather clusters of non-caseating granulomas.

🔎When its Sarcoidosis—

FYI 💭While they generally appear as solid hypodense nodules, they can —sometimes appear as diffuse irregular infiltration rather than distinct nodules.
