So, many questions-

Hypercalcemia & Sarcoidosis💭
Who knew-

In individuals with sarcoidosis, hypercalcemia, or elevated calcium levels in the blood-

Is primarily caused by the excessive production of (calcitriol).

This excess calcitriol then increases calcium absorption from the intestines and resorption from bone, resulting in hypercalcemia.

Long story short —

Increased “Calcitriol”Production
In sarcoidosis, the 1α-hydroxylase enzyme within macrophages is activated due to inflammatory processes, leading to increased production of calcitriol.

The excess calcitriol then disrupts calcium homeostasis by increasing calcium absorption from the intestines and releasing calcium from bone, resulting in “hypercalcemia”

So, I’m not surprised when a person that has sarcoidosis like me could get hypercalcemia! # Hypercalcemia can cause bone pain blah blah…

😒 Primarily, I post this because I have concerns of Hypercalcemia; Because my blood calcium levels have been elevated for months an I have had pancreatic inflammation previously with pain on my left side blah blah blah.
