Sarcoidosis, is a systemic inflammatory disorder!

 

■Sarcoidosis is caused by inflammation■

Most sarcoidosis cases are found in the lungs and lymph nodes; However, sarcoidosis can occur in almost any organ.

 

In that #Sarcoidosis is an inflammatory disease where the body's immune system overreacts; hyper-activity of the immune system if you will... 
leading to the formation of granulomas in different organs. Granulomas:  These are small, localized collections of inflammatory cells that can interfere with the normal function of the affected organs.  Below is a brief list of some of the sarcoidosis symptoms an is not a detailed list-
 
  • Mild-to-moderate shortness of breath
  • Fatigue
  • Bone and joint pain
  • Wheezing/coughing
  • Abnormal heartbeat
  • Light or dark patches on the skin 

 

Anyone can get sarcoidosis with higher numbers for people of color; the percentage of African Americans in the USA is 55% an is not a fixed number this percentage does fluctuate.  Sarcoidosis, is no longer considered to be a rare condition! Sarcoidosis can affect different parts of the body, causing various symptoms and complications... It is important not to ignore any signs or symptoms and seek proper medical care!
